eliminating the terminal need would turn whatever flavour of *nix into a ***** totally gui based OS. the terminal is a POWERFUL tool - certainly if you don't know what you are doing you can ***** things up (try typing sudo rm -rf / ) but that doesn't meant they should "eliminate the terminal" - it means users should be educated enough to not be jackasses
