I'm not savvy with how the refining process works, but I would assume the fuel I'm putting into my car today was probably refined two, three maybe even more weeks ago when it was at a higher price.

I agree with Spuy767. I tried Red Hat for a while but it forked into Fedora and I didn't know where to turn so I ditched it. Then I tried Slackware for being such a lean distro but then they switched the official medium from CD to DVD which fattened it up so I ditched that too. Ubuntu and Mandrake are both pretty consistent in their mission so I feel more comfortable trying one of those distros, going back to Windows, and trying out a newer version a year later.
Because that is like using the Rhythm Method for birth control.
